If you’re a serious Android Developer (or if you like to make pretend), you’ve probably been furiously hitting the refresh button on the Android Developers Contest (ADCII) page lately. Well mash f5 no more my friends; the cat is out of the bag and developer engines are revving nationwide. From the Android Developers Blog, details on the contest came out yesterday. Here’s what you need to know:
- This contest is for new Android apps. Apps already released have already gotten feedback from the market.
- Round 1 will narrow applications down to 20 per category. Considering there are 10 categories, that means 200 applications.
- Android users will vote on the top applications in the second round. Their vote will count for 40% of the final tally in this round. Google judges will form the other 60% of the vote.
- Judges are looking for:
- [25%] Originality of Concept
- [25%] Effective Use of the Android Platform
- [25%] Polish and Appeal
- [25%] Indispensability
- Your application are due by August 31st
