Samsung strongly enters Android Market with two devices

Earlier we reported to you news of T-mobile’s line-up for the rest of the year.  One of said phones was the Bigfoot, slated to come out during T-mobile’s back to school section of the year.  More information about this phone has leaked along with info about a second phone from Samsung.  This one, called Spica, will have the same features as Bigfoot, but will feature a drastically different design.

The specs for these devices are as follows:

  • Data Access: HSDPA 900/1700/2100 (a.k.a “enhanced 3G)
  • Display: 3″ QAVGA LCD display
  • Camera: 3Megapixel
  • Battery: 1500 mAh
  • Memory: 100MB + Micro SD slot
  • USB: USB 2.0
  • Bluetooth enabled
  • WiFi enabled
  • Onboard GPS+Compass
  • Android OS with “Donut” update
  • Accelerometer

The Bigfoot is supposed to be more of a ‘gaming phone’, while the Spica is promised to be affordably priced and widely distributed. Expect these phones to hit the market about September, along with the next iteration of Android’s software, Donut.
